The German Football Association governs football in Germany. The DFB is the entity in charge of German football, both league system and national teams for men and women.

The headquarters of the DFB are in Frankfurt am Main. The only members of the DFB are the German Football League, organizing professional football matches in both Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga for professional players; as well as five regional associations and 21 state-level associations that organize semi-professional and amateur matches against other teams.

The 21 regional associations of the DFB have a combined number of more than 25,000 clubs with more than 6.8 million members, making the DFB the largest sport federation in the world.
