Together with EFPA International Manager, Eduardo Juan, they were welcomed by Mr. Gennaro Testa, from the Italian Football Federation, Mr. Silvano Maioli, from the Italian PFA, and former player Massimo Braschi, among other Italian representatives. Italy is the fourth country to be visited by EFPA with the aim of founding the national federation of former players and thus expand its mission and activities across Europe. The project was received with enthusiasm and both the Italian FA and the PFA have started to work together to create the Federation in Italy. Mr. Eduardo Juan also travelled to Lisbon on January 28th to meet with Mr. Joaquim Evangelista, President of the Portuguese PFA to present the mission of EFPA and promote the foundation of the Portuguese Former Players Federation. Mr. Evangelista, who is a idea of former players as living history of European football, explained that they are already working on a project under the name of “Glorias de Portugal” , which could in the mid-term become the National Federation of Former Players and thus be the representative of EFPA in that country. Portuguese former players Jose Franco, Franque and Toze were also present at the meeting.
